Arizona has monsoons. I did not know that. We have lost 3 trees in our backyard due to the wind and rain. I guess it's been one of the 100 year rains that causes so much flooding. Due to the wet ground and shallow roots, the trees do not fair well. All 3 trees that have fallen were staked but it wasn't enough. A new challenge for me means a new skill learned... 
I have a chainsaw and I know how to use it.
I'm not just a laurel adviser.
